In honor of my birthday week, I'm going back in time thirty years and going to share amusing little tidbits or flashbacks from that sweet, sweet year--1979!
It's the Year 1979
Cost of a new home: $71,800.00
Median Household Income: $16,461.00
Cost of a first-class stamp: $0.15
Cost of a gallon of regular gas: $0.86
Cost of a dozen eggs: $0.85
Cost of a gallon of Milk: $1.62
I'm wondering about the cost of a new home, and what kind of home that would have been...considering in 2008 we bought a small home for not much more than that number and twenty years ago my parents bought a good sized home for half that...
ReplyDeleteYou know what's crazy? Gas prices from the year we were born until the year we graduated from high school didn't change much... it's only been in the last ten years that it has skyrocketed!
