PSA: Very Important Message Regarding Education

I think the reason I find parenting so challenging is that I am constantly learning from it. In my previous life I was pretty opposed to learning things. It didn't even ever cross my mind that the purpose of school was to educate yourself until my last semester of college when I really had to try hard to get that 'A'; no Learning-By-BS-Method allowed. But by then it was too late on the school front and I was just months away from being a parent anyway, so it's been on the parenting field that I have had the majority of my edumacatin'.

Which brings me to what I have learned today. In parenting multiple children who tend toward the sibling rivalry side, nothing shuts off the bickering faster or regains their BFF status with one another better than this: Give them a common enemy. And I must say that I am more than willing to be that enemy if it will get the noise to STOP. What can I say, the sacrifice is worth it.

This public service announcement has been brought to you by One Tired Mama, who just today found that making fighting sisters sit and face the wall for the rest of the day will make them briefly despise her but really works to stop the fighting.
