We decided to take Hannah out to ride without training wheels last week. I imagined this would take days of practice, each session consisting of hours of work and falling, and probably she would be riding well in a couple weeks.
Well, we got to the park. Took the training wheels off. She hopped on the bike, Conrad steadied her, she told him I can do it, I can do it, let go! and ...
Yes, imagine our surprise. There were a few moments like this:
But for the most part it took the day and she was done. She still prefers to crash land instead of using the brakes, but all in all it's been a success.
Yay, Hannah!!! Sela is finally using the coaster brakes to stop this summer instead of crash-landing.
ReplyDelete(Psst, lower her seat a little and she'll have an easier time! She needs to be able to touch the ground almost flat-footed with both feet while sitting on the seat while she's still learning.)
oh, what a classic kid memory! that sad face was too much!
