(AKA: The Modern Proverbs 31 Woman)

Who is she?

10 A wife of noble character who can find?

She is worth far more than rubies.

Yes, it really is hard to find a woman with noble character. (A man, either, for that matter.) Noble character, in today's terms, would be a strong woman who can deal with anything that may come her way. She is to integrity what humor is to The Office.

11 Her husband has full confidence in her
and lacks nothing of value.

12 She brings him good, not harm,
all the days of her life.

She will uphold her partnership in the marriage and will avoid anything that would put it in second place. She doesn't go behind his back and spend too much money or constantly play the Drama Queen.

13 She selects wool and flax

and works with eager hands.

14 She is like the merchant ships,
bringing her food from afar.

She is happy to help in the household. She does her part to provide for her family's needs in whatever means necessary and is willing to go to great lengths in order to meet these needs.

15 She gets up while it is still dark;
she provides food for her family
and portions for her servant girls.

She does not waste time in unproductive pursuits at the expense of her family (like spending too much time on the computer...I'm just sayin'...). She can devise a plan and implement it. She works for the wellness of her husband and children, but she does not ignore the needy outside of her family.

16 She considers a field and buys it;
out of her earnings she plants a vineyard.

She's super-resourceful. She can find good deals, stretch a dollar into oblivion, and wisely invests both her time and her money. Notice how independently she is able to act. The original Independent Woman.
