He Eats!

Finally, solid food success! This milestone has been four months in the making. Mr. Maximillian has been refusing solid food since my very first attempt at shoveling it in his mouth at four months old. No, I'm not 'one of those' moms--whoever 'they' are--I really thought I was reading his cues and that he was just ready for solids at an early age. But I was oh so wrong. I could have quit after that first failed attempt, but severe long-term sleep deprivation will do funny things to a person, and Conrad and I have alternately kept trying about once a week or so to get him to eat more than just his liquid diet. He would have none of that, thankyouverymuch. Now, granted, I'm pretty sure a lot of my weight loss success has been because of the constant, endless, nonstop, repetitive (hah!) nursing, which is great. But getting up to nurse 89,374 times a night is NOT GREAT.

So now.......SUCCESS! He loves peaches, pears, squash, and sweet potatoes so far. And bread and chocolate. I'm sure our food bill will be upped in no time.
